“Since taking part in the Juniors Cup 2012, the young Swiss amateur keeps convincing The Evian Championship board that she is worthy of a wildcard for The Evian Championship, at which she has competed each year since 2015. Albane Valenzuela joined Stanford University in the USA after competing in the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 (the youngest athlete selected, she finished 21st). With her solid, consistent play, the talented amateur world number 4 just keeps the good performances coming, both on the college scene, with for example a win at the East Lake Cup last October, as well as at her appearances at professional tournaments.
The Swiss player is currently on great form and finished her sophomore year named “2018-2019 Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Year”, the first time a Stanford student has received the award.”
